# Sharing

The Sharing tab allows you to share your database service with other Tessell users and manage their access roles.

## How do I share a database service with another user?

Two roles are available:

| Role          | Access level                                       |
| ------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **Co-owner**  | Can perform most management actions on the service |
| **Read-only** | Can view service details but cannot make changes   |

> **Note:** Only users with **Data Owner** roles in your Tessell account appear in the user dropdown. Users and roles are managed in the [IAM application](/tessell/app-families/governance/iam.md) under the **Governance** app family.

### Steps to share a service

1. Click **Share** (top-right of the Sharing tab).
2. Choose a **Role** from the dropdown (Co-owner or Read-only).
3. Select one or more users from the users dropdown.
4. Click **Share**.

## How do I change a user's role or remove their access?

The sharing table shows all users the service is shared with, and their current role. Use the **Search** bar to find a specific user.

Click the ellipsis icon next to a user entry for the following options:

### Change Role

1. Click **Change Role**.
2. Select the new role (Co-owner or Read-only) from the dropdown.
3. Click **Update**.

### Remove User

1. Click **Remove User**.
2. Confirm the removal in the dialog.
3. Click **Remove**.
