# Integrations

The Integrations tab lets you connect your PostgreSQL database service to third-party monitoring tools. Tessell uses a bring-your-own-account model — you provide your own subscription to each tool.

***

## Prerequisites

Ensure that you have added integration endpoints in the [**DB Governance** application](/tessell/app-families/governance/db-governance.md) under the **Governance** app family. Endpoints added there appear in the Endpoint dropdown when enabling an integration.

## Which tools can I integrate with my PostgreSQL database service?

| Integration   | Description                                                                                                                                                                                               |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Datadog** | Cloud monitoring platform that consolidates metrics from all apps, tools, and services. Tessell installs Datadog agents on the database VMs and enables metric collection using your own Datadog account. |
| **New Relic** | Observability platform for monitoring, debugging, and improving database performance, using your own New Relic account. |

## How do I enable a third-party integration?

1. Click the **Enable** button at the bottom of the integration tile. A configuration window opens.
2. Select the **Endpoint** from the dropdown list (endpoints must be pre-configured in DB Governance).
3. Click **Add**.

After enabling, the integration tile displays "Integration has already been enabled with this database" along with the endpoint name.

As an alternative, use the **Code** button (bottom-left) to view, copy, or download the API call for adding an integration in Shell, Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, or PowerShell.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.tessell.com/tessell/database-engines/tessell-for-postgresql/db-services/readme-postgresql/homepage-postgresql/integrations-postgresql.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
