Logs

The Logs tab provides the various log files including Oracle Listener Logs, Oracle Alert Logs, and Oracle DBCA Trace Logs specific to the Oracle database engine. Using these log files you can troubleshoot an issue. These logs are stored in the customer's cloud subscription and are only streamed to the Tessell console for viewing purposes. Tessell does not store or move these logs out of customer’s cloud accounts.

  1. Choose an instance name from the dropdown list to view the logs of that instance if there are multiple instances.

  2. On the left-side, you can see all the three log files, Oracle Listener Logs, Oracle Alert Logs, and Oracle DBCA Trace Logs. Select any of the log files either from the list or by specifying the name of the log file in the Search bar. You can view the log details of the selected file on the right-side.

  3. Click Go Live to view logs which are updated every 15 seconds. A Live status indicates you are viewing updated logs.

  4. You can use the Search bar to look for specific log terms.

  5. Toggle Show line numbers to view the line numbers for all the logs in the log file.

  6. To view the previous logs, use the Load previous logs button and to go to the last log line, use the Jump to bottom button.

  7. Log files for the last hour are displayed by default. You can choose to view logs for 1, 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours. For custom timeframes, select Custom, choose your desired date and time, and click Apply in the top-right sidebar.

  8. To download the log file on your local machine, click on the download button. It downloads the text file in your Downloads folder with the default naming convention of your chosen database engine.
